Title: Sales Manager

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Job Description:

This position is responsible for managing all sales initiatives for the company, including planning and implementing sales and product development programs for both short- and long-range targeted markets. This position is accountable for developing and executing the strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Create awareness and demand for the company products of femtosecond fiber lasers and services.
  • Develop and implement effective customer recruitment strategy to expand existing customer within the distribution channel and build the customer organization.
  • Analyze customer capacity and identify potential customer needs and interests and effectively communicate benefits and opportunities available to meet needs and interests.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers and key strategic partners.
  • Generate and develop new distribution partners in order to sell products to end users.
  • Manage and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Call on prospective customers and distributors, providing technical and administrative product information and/or demonstrations, and quotes appropriate customer prices.
  • Prepare quotes, contracts for potential customers and maintain all quote documentation with accurate pricing and configurations.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent Company image throughout all product lines, sales materials, and trade events to promote product.
  • Participate in advertising and promotion activities related to sales and maintain all sales demonstration tools and applications.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
  • Manage sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
  • Review and analyze sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Take corrective action to guarantee that achievement of sales objectives falls within designated budgets.
  • Monitor competitor products & sales activities.
  • Analyze and control expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Maintain a reliable communication mechanism with internal personnel to ensure efforts are in line with objectives.
  • Prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Physics, Engineering with Sales, Marketing or Business related experiences preferred.
  • Minimum five years of progressive managerial responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to think “out side the box”, communicate and motivate customers on the company’s products, programs and new ideas.
  • Knowledge in lasers or femtosecond lasers is preferred
  • Demonstrated in-depth sales techniques and financial principles.
  • Proficient in foreign language such as Chinese or German is a big plus.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers and distributors.
  • Ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-management, internal and external customers.
  • Flexible, creative, and ability to work in a non-structured developing work environment.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills, including well-developed presentation skills.
  • Willing and able to travel locally, nationally, and internationally; must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.

Title: Electrical Engineer Manager

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Job Description:

The Electrical Engineering Manager will be responsible for providing hands-on leadership and direction to the Company Electrical Engineering group. The accountabilities include performing Direct Electrical and limited Firmware design development activities, debugging hardware and firmware for products and customers, and improving quality of current hardware/firmware platform to satisfy medical laser requirements. The Electrical Engineering Manager will also be supervising the maintenance of existing electrical designs and coordinating efforts with the Mechanical, Software and Sustaining teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    Technical:
  • Accountable for all electronics functional performance and reliability.
  • Able to thoroughly baseline signal interactions and dependencies.
  • Recommend improvements to current designs and methodologies.
  • Drive the outsourcing of PCBs & Box Builds.
  • Lead design review meetings.
  • Create and maintain project schedules and report on project status, activities and issues.
    Supervision:
  • Oversee staffing, training and supervision of engineers and or technicians to include: workload distribution, assist with performance evaluations and managing employee relations while ensuring engineering schedules, customer needs and quality standards are met in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor performance and work with other members of the engineering department to create electrical design solutions that meet company directions and customer requirements.
  • Manage the design documentation, and support internal resources such as manufacturing engineering with testing, assembly and production.
  • Provide leadership to solve problems through utilization of comprehensive root cause analysis techniques.
  • Work with Quality, Manufacturing and other groups/units to ensure that Company products are delivered and maintained to the highest standards possible.
  • Maintain department budget that is aligned with strategic business goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • MS in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10 years electrical design experience and management experience.
  • Optics background a plus.
  • Strong communication skill is a must for working with outside vendors, understand customer requirements, internal functional team effectively.
  • Working knowledge of SPC a plus.
  • Knowledge of ISO-9001 Quality System
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, and other operating systems.
  • Knowledge of PCB design and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of using and programming commercial single board computer and C, C+++.
  • Experience in design and testing current driver, temperature control circuits.
  • Knowledge in the use of FPGA design tools (Xilinx).

Title: Optical Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Job Description:

As a member of R&D team to assist in overall development of the next generation ultrafast fiber laser products. Key responsibilities include

  1. Responsible in building and developing ultrafast fiber laser, including both fiber and free space optic assemblies. Perform system level testing and diagnosing.
  2. Understanding Key physical phenomena which influence laser performances both through experimental and theoretical analysis. Collecting and analyzing experimental data.
  3. Work closely with a small engineering team that includes electrical, mechanical and software engineers to identify the root causes of the interdisciplinary problems and generate creative engineering solutions.
  4. Understand system requirements, define components specifications and conduct component qualification test.
  5. Documentation of the optical design and modification, test methodology, component specifications
  6. Work closely with the manufacturing team to transfer the prototype R&D design to manufacturing. Train manufacturing personnel; help resolve manufacturing and testing challenges on the production line.

Requirements:

  • M.S. or higher degree in optics or laser physics (or equivalent)
  • Good understanding in fiber lasers in general, previous experience in ultrafast optics a strong plus.
  • Strong hands-on experience in fiber optics, table-top experiments and testing procedures. Familiar with typical fiber optics equipments such as fusion splicer, cleaver and high precision optical assembly processes. Previous experience in handling large mode area fiber a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience in free-space optical alignment of laser systems. Familiar with beam quality measurement tools.
  • Previous experience in different aspects of product life cycle a strong plus.
  • Must be able to work as a team member and across functional boundaries inside the company.
  • Self-motivated with good interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Excellent documentation and computer skills.

Title: Optical Test Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Position Summary:

Responsible for final test of ultrafast fiber laser products and plays an important role in product quality control.

Essential Duties & Job Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform final test of fiber laser products, write test report and instruction manual.
  • Process test data and prepare various reports.
  • Closely communicate with manufacturing team in case of failure during test.
  • Work with other engineer to develop and document product test plans and procedures.
  • Participate in development of test automation.
  • Build necessary tools to test laser performance or improve work efficiency.
  • Ensure test equipment accuracy through regular calibration and checking.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in EE, physics, optics or equivalent, with 2+ years’ working experience in related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of laser performance test methods and equipment.
  • Hands-on experience of free space optical alignment.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition, analysis and management tools, such as LabVIEW, Excel and MATLAB.
  • Excellent computer skills: word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Experience of Visual Basic, C#, SQL programming is a plus.
  • Strong skills to manage time and organize daily activities with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work as an effective team member and self-motivated.
